International Remittance — questions we get asked
How much can I send abroad?+
Under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme a resident individual may remit up to USD 250,000 per financial year across all permitted purposes.
What about TCS?+
Tax Collected at Source applies above the annual threshold for the purpose you choose, and is shown as a separate line before you pay. It is creditable against your income tax.
Which documents do I need?+
It depends on the purpose — tuition needs the university invoice, medical needs the hospital estimate. The flow lists exactly what to upload for the purpose you pick.
How long does it take?+
Most corridors credit in one to two working days once documents are cleared. The tracker shows each stage.
